My friend referred me over to japan wifi buddy! It was a no brainer! There were moments were the connection were slow, but all I had to do was reset it. It’s technology, what can you say? Only thing I wish was having a better back up battery. It didn’t last very long and it didn’t really charge the pocket WiFi back up. Other than that, everything was great!

Couldn’t have done our trip to Japan as effortlessly without the pocket wifi! It seriously saved us with helping us figure out the trains/transport and directions more than anything. Absolute life saver!

Overall a great experience. Only critisism would be that the device wasn‘t fully charged when I received it and had to be recharged after a couple of hours. And sometimes I had to restart/reboot it because it didn‘t work, but that wasn‘t a big issue.

Used the pocket wifi for my 2 week trip around Japan. The service was excellent and very simple to use, lasted all day with the backup battery and had excellent reception everywhere we went. Highly recommended!!!

I have t-mobile which comes with free international, but having this pocket wifi made a big difference in speed. I highly recommend getting this pocket wifi.

Worked well

The Wifi Buddy worked extremely well for our trip to japan. We traveled by train from Tokyo to Kyoto, to Osaka and Hiroshima and had zero issue with service at any of the cities or while on the train. Service was great as it was waiting for us at the airport. Would highly recommend this to any of our friends

I booked the Diamond Pocket WiFi plus a separate SIM card so that both my wife and I would always be connected. As others posted here, the Pocket Wifi comes with a charger, a battery bank, and cables, so it's actually a considerable amount of stuff! The overall setup worked really well - the packet was ready for pickup when we arrived and returning it was really easy as well (just dropping the pre-filled envelope into a mailbox at Narita). The connectivity was mostly excellent - though the device did get quite warm during the day (we're there in early March and it was quite cold, not sure if this would be a problem in summer). Also, the battery typically lasted for about 10 hours, so you either bring the spare battery pack or you stop for recharging during the day. Overall a really good choice, would do the same thing again for my next Japan trip!

Rented a Japan Wifi Buddy for 14 days while we were recently in Japan. The order process, pick-up, utilization of the device and return were all very easy to follow and we were able to be connected essentially throughout the entirety of our trip. Big shout out to Ri at Japan WifiBuddy for answering my questions concerning the pick up. I will say; the battery on the device won't last you a full day, so make sure to keep the portable charger fully charged!

I forgot all about getting a wifi until the last minute, like literally the morning of my flight I messaged them and they said they would be able to overnight it to my hotel. Was waiting for me when I checked in. Incredibly amazing service. Will be using them every time I go to Japan.

Did exactly what we needed and more. Never had a signal failure. Works on most of the underground trains due to the way the Japanese mobile networks work. The battery lasted at least 75% of the day and the provided external battery did all we needed to keep us going. 100% recommended and for such a small cost over the two weeks made a huge difference to our trip! Thank you!

WiFi pickup was easy as well as the return! The WiFi itself has a pretty short battery life but we were also given a portable charger by WiFi buddy to compensate. My one complaint was that the portable WiFi would suddenly turn off for no reason at least a few times a day.

Though you can rent similar hotspots upon arrival, they are a bit more expensive. I found the service with WiFiBuddy to be exceptional all around. An absolute must when traveling around Japan!

Worked perfectly while I was in Tokyo and Osaka, as well as on the train ride in between. Speeds were fast and service was available everywhere I went. I would definitely use Wifi Buddy again.

Overall the service was great and well priced. But after the LTE would run out we were just left with a heavily throttled 3G. I expected more useable speeds for 3G.

Our Diamond WifiBuddy made our trip so easy! We always had lightning fast internet and the ability to navigate through Google Maps and entertainment for those long public transport rides. Battery life was never an issue with the portable battery they provide. Highly recommend this service.
