This the second time I've rented a Buddy. Excellent coverage everywhere in and around Tokyo (which is to be expected). The battery drained faster than during my last rental, but all in all a good value.

Japan WifiBuddy worked everywhere we went in Tokyo and Kyoto and was indispensable as a navigation and information aid throughout our trip. Highly recommend!

Very useful and worked very well while we were in Japan. Good battery life frequently lasted all day. Seamless pick-up and return process. Occasionally lost connection despite only visiting major cities but these moments were brief and we were connected the majority of the time.

Spent 2 weeks in Japan - Tokyo, Kyoto and then down to Ishigaki ( Okinawa ). The Wifi worked flawlessly in all locations with a good, fast connection. Pick up was very easy at the airport ( if you get lost, there are lots of information places where the staff speak good English and can point you in the right direction for the post office ). 4 people connected to it daily during my visit - no issues. Helped a huge amount, especially with maps for getting around. Battery does drain so you do need to use the extra battery if you are out all day.

Had signal and stayed connected almost everywhere!

Got it shipped to our hotel and our last hotel turned it in to the mail for us. It lasts a good portion of the day and we had our own big battery to charge the pocket wifi and 2 phones at once so we ended up not making use of the provided battery. But it was nice it was included. We also added an extra day from when we would be in Japan in order to give the mail time to return the pocket wifi. It is so cheap per day we didn't mind paying a little extra for the peace of mind.

Everything about this service from the reservation, to pickup at the airport and service during my 10 day trip to japan was spectacular. I got the unlimited data plan and was very happy with the strength of signal we had the entire trip. It was an easy pickup at the airport and my hotel dropped it in the mail when i left. I had a question during the week, sent them and email and they responded within 30 minutes, customer service was great! Highly recommend this service.

We got the Diamond package for a 7-day, 5-person trip around Kansai area. The pick-up and return was a breeze. The customer service was awesome when we were discussing options for pick-up/delivery. The wifi set was easy to use and has great speed and bandwidth, and comes with complete accessories. We used it for more than 12 hours a day—a full charge of the device plus a fully charged power bank was enough to keep it alive. Compared to other services, JWB got them beat!

We were in Japan for 2 weeks and our Wi-Fi Buddy was indispensable. It went everywhere with us with no lapse in service. We were constantly using it to help map us on the rails and subways. We never got lost because of the Wi-Fi Buddy. We highly recommend getting it for your next trip. Easy pickup (@Narita airport, just wait until you get your bags and get out of customs and then head for the post office on the 4th floor at the airport) and even easier drop off, we just handed it over at our hotel at checkout and they dropped the package off for us.

Used the Wi-Fi for the 17 days in Japan and it worked flawlessly. I used the unit and left it attached to the extra battery throughout the day and recharged the extra battery at night ... we never ran out of power. It worked everywhere and kept me connected to the web to be able to use maps and guides and allowed me to use my phone with the internet easily. I plan to use this Wi-Fi from now on, where ever I travel around the globe. Thanks very much for your excellent service, ease of use, instructions and packaging for return.

I rented the Silver Pocket and it was so easy. Ordered online to have it delivered to my hotel. It was waiting for me at check in. Had WiFi connection throughout my two week trip. Return was simple, just had to put in the self postage envelope which was provided. Gave package to registration desk at check out. I would definitely use this service again.

We had the Diamond WifiBuddy for a month and we were very happy it. We had no problems at all. The battery did go flat by late afternoon but we were provided with a portable charger, although rarely used it as most of our travelling was done by day and by late afternoon we didn't need it so much. Would happily recommend this to anyone and will use again next time we are in Japan - thank you.

Cannot rate this service highly enough, excellent customer service quality and reliable wifi connection even in more remote areas. Do not go past this if you’re looking for quality and value for money!!

This was the second time I’ve rented a portable WiFi through this company and everything worked perfectly. The WiFi was waiting for me at my selected pick up location (Narita Airport post office), worked flawlessly during the trip, and sending it back couldn’t be easier. Communication with the staff is always very friendly with a fast response time. I plan on using this service again whenever I travel to Japan.

This is the first time we used a local portable Wifi and were amazed as well as thankful that we made the choice to have one for our three weeks in Japan. We had no reception problems during our journey spanning Sendia and Mt. Haguro in the north to Fukuoka in the south. The only times we had a problem was when the battery ran low and we forgot to use the back-up one (very handy!). We are very impressed with the service we had both prior to our journey as well as having the Wifi sent to our hotel and available upon our arrival. We loved Japan and hope to return; when we do, we will again rent from Japan WifiBuddy. They were great and we have already told our friends and families about the service. Thank you so much - money well spent!!

Simple and efficient process.

The range, speed and quality was great. The only downside I had was that it needed to be recharged by mid afternoon. Normally, as long as you are paying attention, that's fine because they also provide you with a portable charger. Unfortunately, the charger they sent did not work well, so I use my own pocket juice to charge the WiFi, which turned out fine. The other important thing to note is that you need to take the WiFi cord with you so you can charge it on the go. It has a unique plug into the WiFi device and your normal USB cable won't work. But, if I return to Japan, I would definitely get another one from this company. It was where it was supposed to be (Narita Terminal 1 Post Office) and it was easy to return (same post office). And I had all the data I needed with the Diamond package.

The pocket wifi we rented through Japan wifi buddy was one of the best things we did!!! We opted to have the device delivered to our hotel so upon checking in, we'll receive it. The customer service team is great at communicating and confirming the details of the hotel name and booking name. They also send you an email as you get closer to arriving in Japan, just to confirm your booking which I think is awesome! It came with a spare battery to charge the device if it dies while your out exploring Japan. We made use of that battery every day! The greatest thing was that the battery lasted ALL day and got us through our day! At the end of the trip, all we had to do was pack everything into the prepaid envelope and drop it off and at any mailbox or post office! So easy and simple!!! I would highly recommend using Japan wifi buddy!!!

A wonderful easy to use device that made traveling around japan a breeze. Didn’t have a single problem the entire trip!

We literally wouldnt have been able to find anything if not for the WifiBuddy. My only complaint were the speeds were not even close to what was advertised. Real world we ended up getting 20-30 Mbps instead of 150 Mbps. Overall it was a great service, though.

We received our wugibuddy promptly on arrival after ordering via the internet from offshore. We spent our time in Japan Alps and the reception was good. I also extended for a further month very easily. A great service thanks.

This is my second time using Japan WifiBuddy (for more than a month each time) and I would recommend this company highly. They provide great customer service and the pocket WiFi worked without any problems during my travels.

This is a really great service. It was easy to pick up from the airport, worked straight away complete with fully charged spare battery. It was incredibly reliable not once letting us down for two weeks. Up mountains, on the subway all over the country, not a problem. So so worth the money.

Fantastic experience and great product, worked great and gave us great speeds everywhere. Could not recommend it enough!
