I honestly can't think of a single flaw. The customer service was quick and kind and the pocket wifi was lightning fast and reliable my entire trip

We chose to go with the Diamond WifiBuddy since it was a good price compared to competitors and offered wide coverage. Coverage was particular important as we were trekking out to Takamatsu and Kochi, which as far as I knew at the time, was country country-side. Luckily that was not the case - we had good coverage. We went during a very hot time (August) so yes indeed, the battery did not last the day. However WifiBuddy does warn you of this and very kindly provide a spare battery for this very reason. The only other provider I have tried did not provide a spare battery (although if this was because we were not travelling during a hot time, I am not sure). The only con is that the connection would drop out randomly, even if we had only left our accommodation 10 minutes to an hour ago. It's a quick fix most of the time, going into the WiFi settings in your phone, but otherwise it was just annoying. Thankfully it did not occur everyday, although I honestly do not know what caused it. The WifiBuddy team kept in contact with me, advising that the device would arrive at our hotel a few days prior to our arrival. Would I go with WifiBuddy again? Definitely. I am not sure how the connection would hold up at Minoo Falls, since the first provider we went with was spotty for that area - I didn't go there this time. That would be the only sort of "testing" I would review over next come to see more of Japan. Thanks WifiBuddy for the solid & economical service.

It Was waiting for me at my hotel, and I just gave it back to the hotel to mail in the envelope they provided. Easy to use. Pricing reasonable. What more could you ask for?

Absolutely found this little pocket WIFI a god send. Made our trip so much easier to translate through language barriers, navigate to places of interest and find out which transport was required. Worked absolutely everywhere we went and was a seamless pick up and drop off. Great experience and simply cannot recommend this company enough.

SO happy I decided to go with JapanWiFiBuddy for my time in Japan. I was living/working in Japan for 2.5 months and I rented an apartment without any internet access. JapanWiFiBuddy was PERFECT for my needs. I got the diamond package and this allowed me to use internet in my apartment in addition to taking it with me everywhere I went so I had wifi/data for my phone (no need to purchase a data phone plan while here). Further, I contacted JapanWiFiBuddy before my arrival to ensure that the wifi could support my needs. I use A LOT of YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple Music in my day-to-day life to unwind from work. JapanWifiBuddy assured me that it could handle these needs and they were absolutely correct. I was able to stream everything without any delay and my data was never throttled even though I was using a lot. The only time I noticed some slowdown in internet was during chaotic weather when Japan experienced severe floods and typhoons, but this far and few between and not really the fault of JWB. Thanks again for providing a solution to my internet needs while in Japan! I would absolutely recommend and use this service again if/when I come back to Japan.

Messaged WifiBuddy before placing my order and their support staff was very helpful. I was surprised that they did not have a way to pick-up the device at the airport, supposedly due to weather problems, and they arranged to deliver it to the apartment I was staying at. They delivered as expected, but we had to be there for a 3 hour window of time, which was a hassle. Otherwise, the device came with great instructions and it was easy to use. Pictures of content in bag would be helpful as there are so many cords to charge the device. The device has a battery life of about 8 hours, so we needed to charge it at about 6pm in the evening. Connection was good for three of us using while out and about. Would purchase WifiBuddy again.

The WiFi buddy worked perfectly in Japan. No problems at all. Easy to set up and use. It was a must for helping us access the internet to navigate our way around Japan. Easy to collect and return. Would definitely recommend.

Super easy pickup and drop-off, and I had no issues with connectivity, even in the subway, which was a pleasant surprise.

Very efficient and smooth service. Excellent communications. Straight away after ordering I was contacted via email to double check details amd confirm process. Collection at Haneda was so simple. Using the device was painless. Turn it on. Connect to wifi with password. Simple. All charging cables and plug included. Used device all around Tokyo and around the lakes at Mt Fuji. No signal problems at all. Used with 2 phones on the wifi. Return was also very simple due to the envelope already addressed. Put in post box at Haneda airport. Highly recommend this service.

I was worried about having access to a data during my trip to Japan. WiFi buddy eased my worries and was very affordable!

Worked great during my whole 14 day trip in Japan. The only problem I experienced was with google maps telling me the wrong directions. Other than that, it served it's intended purpose. I ordered 2 and used about 50 GB total. The diamond package should really be used only if you want to stream or upload big files.

Not sure how we would have found anything in japan without wifi and google maps, best decision ever.

I was pleased with the wifbuddy during my visit to Japan, as I was able to access the Internet in the major cities. However, there were cities that I visited that did not have coverage, such as Mt. Fuji, and on the train to and back from Hokkaido.

We always stayed connected using WiFi Buddy while traveling through Japan. Easy and convenient. Our WifiBuddy was delivered to our hotel and we were able to return it in the self addressed postage paid envelope at any mailbox in Japan!

This was faster internet than we even have at home. Made the trip an absolute breeze and was delivered to the hotel with no trouble at all. I will absolutely use this service again next time I'm in Japan! Thanks so much!

Coverage was great while in port and when we were out to sea, but close to shore. We didn't have to worry about using google maps while we toured on our own. I highly recommend WifiBuddy when crusing around Japan.

It was very reliable with just a few temporary breaks in connectivity. It totally changed the dynamic of my trip in a positive way, and gave me the confidence to explore a totally new environment. I highly recommend!

10 GB was more than enough for my 9 day vacation (and 3 people using it). Service was good except for when we were in the subway, as expected. Only thing is it overheated very quickly, but this is also to be expected. Instructions to pick up the WifiBuddy at the airport were incorrect. Took me like 30 minutes to figure out where to pick it up. You have to pick it up on the 4th floor, not the 1st floor. I was able to return it at the airport before security at a post office drop off.

I would recommend this. The protable wifi was very very useful throughout Japan. Pickup/ drop off was easy and did not interfere with our travel plans at all. The battery does not last all day but the external they provide is perfect.

Great experience with the WiFi buddy. We would repeat. The only issue was limited battery life depending on time away from a charge plug.

I was very impressed with the device! Never had issues, long lasting battery and the external was useful when we forgot to charge overnight. Excellent experience, very highly recommended for any foreign traveler.

Used this on my recent trip to Tokyo. It words great! I had no connectivity issues at all. I used it for youtube videos, facetime, surfing the web, google maps, and etc. Definitely recommend!
